Every year since I have lived here there has been a fatal accident. Last year, two weeks earlier it was one of Zachary's friends. I agree with you about this young man's life never being the same.Bevhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00292135437149648909noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7239140084937897595.post-77318207111926012642009-04-13T08:23:00.000-04:002009-04-13T08:23:00.000-04:00Kate,As a Christian I really do get Good Friday an...Kate,

As a Christian I really do get Good Friday and why it's called Good Friday. Jesus did suffer but he did it for a reason and afterwards not only did he save people from sin but he got seated next to God in Heaven. How wonderful that is. I can't wait to be in God's Kingdom. In fact the day I die it will be a beautiful day.

The young girl probably had the most wonderful life. She was young and possible never had to suffer a serious illness, maybe a few heart aches here and there but nothing compared to the compexities that adults go through. May she rest in peace.

The boy concerned I do feel for him. My brother was driving a car on a dirt road in Zimbabwe and the grass had not been cut. The grass can be over 6 feet tall and he didn't see a child running across the road in time. He had killed the child as the body impacted the car and rolled across the wind screne. That was over 12 years ago and he says he still feels guilty about it. Funny though he is a bus driver now so in a way I think he has gotten over it.

I hope every body had a wonderful easter.

J.PAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7239140084937897595.post-51821506524541048592009-04-13T07:32:00.000-04:002009-04-13T07:32:00.000-04:00Kate,Kate -A big question. I believe in a compassionate, all-knowing G-d and you know that I am Jewish, more specifically believe closely to Reconstructionist Judaism. and also have a love for Buddhism and believe in the freedom to choose a religious path.

Anyway, I believe also that all human beings have free will and that accidents happen due to lack of awareness and it is not G-d's fault and as you've said so sensitively, not really this young man's fault either--just maybe an accident that unfortunately happened to him and this young girl. In addition, as someone who suffered from many debilitating depressions, I too have thought about "why me?" My understanding is that G-d allows his creation free will in order to learn in this life. If G-d intervened at every turn, how would we learn? Yet, if we ask for his guidance in how to live our lives and forge a relationship, I believe G-d is everpresent. It is beyond my understanding the length of our days, but that young man can choose to grieve and eventually move on with his life or be trapped in the past. I have learned that for me to heal, and to continue to live a good life, I need to be mindful of holding onto the negative, instead of learning the painful lessons and to pray. Life is fleeting and I think we need to embrace all the beauty in our lives.

Well...I could go on and on...

Nancynancyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03055473677861147084noreply@blogger.com
