A Recovery Blog

This blog is about my continuing recovery from severe mental illness and addiction. I celebrate this recovery by continuing to write, by sharing my music and artwork and by exploring Buddhist and 12 Step ideas and concepts. I claim that the yin/yang symbol is representative of all of us because I have found that even in the midst of acute psychosis there is still sense, method and even a kind of balance. We are more resilient than we think. We can cross beyond the edge of the sane world and return to tell the tale. A deeper kind of balance takes hold when we get honest, when we reach out for help, when we tell our stories.

No Adam, No Eve

 No Adam, No Eve

No Adam, No Eve

No Tree Of Knowledge

No serpent, no apple

No expulsion from Eden

Man Betrayed the Woman

Through his greater strength

And aggression

And made it into

A Law of God

As if it were righteous

And good.

And gave himself

Dominion over the earth

Which he began

To destroy

Through territoriality

Through violence

Through killing

If Moses existed

And God gave him the command

Not to kill

It would have been

A very great blessing

For this world

And have led us

To Peace on Earth.

But men modified

The meaning

To give themselves

The “Chosen” ones

The right to kill.

O, men of the world

It was your ancestors

Who betrayed

Our Higher Power

Then and now.

Making their lies Holy

And put down in scriptures

In laws to follow

These “Holy” men

Were not Holy

In Palestine

And Babylon

They were the elite

And were not starving

And destitute

Like most of the

Jewish People

In Palestine

Then.
